Katie Lydon, originally from London, founded her downtown New York interior design firm in 2002.
Educated at Wimbledon Art School in London and then Cambridge University, Katie’s interiors reflect her knowledge and passion for antiques and architecture as well as her eye for contemporary art and design. She believes that a balance of classic and modern pieces creates a home that is at once timeless and exciting.
Whether designing a polished uptown townhouse, a stylish downtown loft, Fifth Avenue Duplex, or a relaxed family retreat, Katie aims to bring the highest level of quality and service to her clients and to create warm, comfortable and beautiful homes that reflect their owners’ unique personality and style. Her projects in New York City, the Hamptons, Westchester, Boston, and beyond have won her a diverse and devoted residential clientele.
Katie’s work has been featured in national and international design publications, including Domino, Elle Décor, Tatler, Metropolitan Home, Lucky, The New York Times, and Town & Country. Katie has also appeared on LXTV’s Open House New York and George to the Rescue. In November 2009, Metropolitan Home named Katie one of their ten “Rising Design Stars,” and in June 2010, Elle Décor included Katie in their “A-List Top 5 Designers to Watch.”
Kathryn Connolly joined Katie Lydon Interiors as a project manager in 2008 after completing coursework at the New York School of Interior Design. She has a BA in Psychology from Duke University. She grew up visiting construction sites with her father, a residential developer, and loves bringing beauty into spaces old and new.
Jenny Cella was delighted to join the Katie Lydon Interiors team as a project manager in 2013. She earned a BFA in Interior Design from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology and has a BA in English Literature from Binghamton University. Jenny has been working on interior design projects since 2006, unless you count her childhood of living through the constant home renovations of her parents.
In 2010, Suzy Meyer followed her heart to the New York School of Interior Design, earning her MFA before joining Katie Lydon Interiors three years later. She loves creating spaces that make clients happy and comfortable; prior to designing residential spaces, Suzy put her BA in French Language to use as a Publicist at L'Oreal and YSL.
